Hello,

I am looking at a LED driver board design using a LM3429. I have downloaded TI's Pspice model and tried to use it with Simetrix. However Simetrix tells me there are problems with the model, for example:

"There are errors in the circuit. Simulation aborted; LM3429_TRANS.LIB (51): ...; *** ERROR *** No model name specified

LM3429_TRANS.LIB (58): ...; *** ERROR *** Missing nodes. This device has 2 terminals

LM3429_TRANS.LIB (65): ...; *** ERROR *** Missing nodes. This device has 2 terminals

etc etc etc."

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I suspect the encryption used in the model may be the problem.

I don't know much about the pspice models but I will try and find somebody who does.

TI promote Tina, and I found the model works OK on Tina. However the Tina model is so low level that it is no use to me. In the end I gave up.

I can understand the frustration, I've been there. But this device did have a standard pspice model made for it while it was still an NSC device, the TINA model came later. Check the LM3429 product folder and click on the tools and software tab. The first one should be non-TINA pspice that can be run in cadence or other software.

I did forward this to somebody in the pspice/TINA group, they may get back with more information. I'm not sure.
