Thanks for the prompt reply.

I did download and install bqstudio Ver 1.3.42. Is this the latest? The reason I ask is that the Help information has some differences with the features in the application. For example the App has a view for “Data Memory” but the Help describes a “Data Flash” concept that has some different options and a different look-and-feel..

After looking at how a golden file could be created with bqstudio I leaned about FS files for the first time. Googled up mention of a FlashStream bundle/utility that creates this type of file with various options. Am I correct in thinking that I do not need this and that this functionality is built into bqstudio?

Yes that is the latest. bqstudio can create that the flashtream files. Go under the golden image tab on bqstudio and you will see the option to create these files. Let me know if you have further questions.

Sorry for the potential thread hijack, but I just downloaded & installed 1.3.42, but I don't see any golden image tab. Is this only for certain parts? (I'm using bq40z50.)

Also, what does AutoCycle do?

The Golden Image tab does not apply to the bq40z50. You can export an srec from the Firmware tab on this device. The Autocycle is an optimization cycle feature that is not on the bq40z50 either.
