LOAD SWITCH

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22963C, TPS25200

I cannot find any info about overcurrent protection in the above devises. There is only statement "Maximum continuous switch current is…". What will happen if this current will be exceeded?

TPS22963C has reverse current protection only while disabled. There is a remark in datasheet, it is to "… allow for intentional reverse current (when the switch is enabled) for some applications". Is it completely bidirectional having the same electrical parameters?

Can you recommend some simple load switch with overcurrent protection and adjustable current limit 0.2A to 1.5A?

  • Hi Eli,

If our load switches do not mention current limiting or over current protection, then exceeding the maximum continuous switch current will risk damaging the device.

When turned on, the TPS22963C passes current in both directions.  While the electrical parameters are the same, there is no controlled slew rate when passing a voltage from VOUT to VIN.

If you are looking for an adjustable current limit from 0.2A to 1.5A, then you may want to look at our eFuse portfolio.  To start, you can take a look at the TPS25200.  This device has an adjustable current limit from 75mA to 2.8A.

    Thanks,
