  • thanks, it worked!

can you please explain in short what parameters do i need to set for the bq27510-g3 and how do i use them in the

    power management studio ?

i see the .senc file on the download page but im not sure how to use it, doesn't the chip should be already with the right

parameters flashed out of the box?

  • Hi Shlomi,

No the device has to be configured to your specific application. Battery gauging is not trivial and there are several variables that needs to be considered. There is a parameter q/A tab in bqstudio that will walk you through the most important parameters that need to be configured. For a full description of all the configurable data flash parameters, pls refer to the technical reference manual of the gauge.
the device comes with the latest firmware, ie g3 firmware. You do not need to reprogram the senc file. However if the original default settings are needed then you can program the senc file using bqEVSW since bqstudio only works with srec file format. you can download bqEVSW from ti.com. You can exract an srec from a new device that hasn't been tampered with. That will have the same firmware content as the senc file which we have online. This is just incase you need to program the firmware with the default settings back on the gauge.

    thanks
