MPPT (SM72442 and SM72295): How to avoid inrush current when connecting battery?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SM72295, SM72442, LM5069

Hello!

I am building a MPPT based on SM72442 and SM72295 from SolarMagic SM3320-BATT reference design, but with 24V batteries.

When I connect the battery to the circuit there is a spark. I guess this is due to inrush current charging the input capacitors.

It's not good for the battery, for the circuit and there is the danger of explosion since this spark is near the battery.

How can I avoid it?

Thanks.
