I'm looking for a overvoltage protection circuit and balancer for 2 cells. I found bq29209-Q1 and just studied the block diagram and "typical application".

I need a output current from the 2-cell-battery-pack of 3 ampere. Is it true, that the current (here 3 amps) flows through RVD=100 ohm? In my case, this would be a power dissipation of P=I^2*R=3^3*100=900W. Correct?

Does anyone know a more efficienty solution for 2 cells, overvoltage protection, balancer, for output currents of 3 amps?
