Hello

I use TPS61175 for a boost converter from 12V to 24V(800mA). The maximum of input supply is 3A.

During the power on, the inupt supply is drop to 5V, and the current is about 3A . After 3~4 seconds , it's recover to normal.The input back to 12V about 2A.

Can you give me advice to solve this problem?

What kind of source you used? Did you set the current limit point of the source? if it is , what is the current limit value?

Hi Helen

Thank you for your reply. The power supply is Tektronix 2231A-30-3 Triple channel DC power supply. I didn't set the current limit point of the source. The maximum current of the power supply is 3A.

Thanks Carry,
Now its clear that the maximum ouput power ability of the power supply is too weak, the inrush current at turn-on is much bigger than 3A, so the souce itself enters into the current limit mode. Please change a source with higher current rating.
