I have an application where we may need to increase battery design capacity. Would I be able to replace my 4S battery to a 4S2P?

The gauge can support up to 29Ah. If you need to go higher than that then you will need to use current scaling.

In addition, the battery we are considering might not have cell balancing leads.

I know there is a setting to disable active cell balancing, but what other considerations need to be made? Would there be Cell Undervoltage safety alerts from the cells that are not monitored?

Charley,
Are you planning to leave the cell connections open? The gauge is not designed to support this. It uses cell voltage connections for more than just balancing. They are critical for cell protection and Impedance Track.
