I2C Communication error between BQ76940EVM and external MCU

We are Working on BQ76940EVM and facing problem while communicating through external MCU. Below are our observations -

1) BQ76940EVM is perfectly working with EV2300 on GUI

2) We are using MSP430G2550 Launchpad. working perfectly with expernal EEPROM through I2C.

3) We are using I2C from Website - http://www.ti.com/product/BQ76940/toolssoftware .

4) Pull up Resisters on EVM are closed. We are not using BQ78350 Ic respective Jumpers are open. No pull up at MCU side

5) I2C pins are pulled up with RegOut pin value - 2.5V. Where as MCU is communicating at 3.3V.

6) We are not getting Ack Bit from EVM

Please suggest what could be possible faults.
