BQ24050 Output Current supply

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24050, BQ24075, BQ24232

Hi,

Considering the case that the Vbat is below 2.9V, the chip should regulate the voltage in the OUT pin between 3.4 up to 3.6V. Anybody knows what's the máximum current that the BQ24050 may supply at the OUT pin?. Of course, the idea is also charge the battery at a programmed current. What's the ratio between the current output at the OUT pin and the charge current?.

Best Regards,

Joel

  • The summation of the current going to the OUT load and to the battery is the input current limit which you programmed using ISET and ISET2. The device cannot differentiate those two current so there's no ratio.

If you want to control the two current separately, you need a charger with power path management so that you can separate pins for OUTPUT load and battery connection. You can start with BQ24075 and bq24232.

    Thanks,
