Dear All

I am performing failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) of a MC33063A based power supply and therefore trying to get some more insight into all the possible 'ill' effects that a catch diode with slow reverse recovery of the order of 4 to 6 microseconds (e.g. 1N4007) would cause?

Hi Michael

I was planning to use the most simple buck topology in the datasheet of the MC33063A IC.

Hello I.K.,

It is recommended not to use a diode like the 1N4007. It is recommended that you use a Schottky diode for this device.
