Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50I programmed my BQ40z50 with cell chemistry 0434. When I read it back (send command 0x08 then read 0x00) it returns 0x0107. Am I using the correct command to read chemistry ID (note: I DO NOT MEAN block 0x0022. That returns the ASCII strong LION from the GG file and has nothing to do with how the gauge works), which , or is there a problem with the gauge?

The Chemical ID command on the bq40z50 is 0x06. Please let me know if this returns the correct value.

Sending command 0x06 and then reading 0x00 does not give me the expected result. Reading 0x06 directly does not give me the expected result either.

You need to write 0006 to MAC command 00 and then Block Read 44. The device will return four bytes of data and the last two bytes will be the ChemID byte swapped.
