PMP8372 TP16 purpose

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS84259, PMP8372

On the PMP8372 board there is a 49.9 ohm resistor R11 in series with the Vset resistor R13 to ground for the TPS84259 minus out module. The junction is labeled Vs- and is connected to TP16. What is the purpose of the additional 49.9 ohm resistor and what is the purpose of the test point?

  • Hi John,

you will see this 49.9ohm resistor on some of our eval boards for power parts.   This is used to do a loop stability test and allows us to inject AC voltage across that resistor.   There is no need for you to have it unless you want to do some detailed loop analysis.   This would be a rare occurence for a part like this.

    regards,

    Jonathan
