Hi Team,
When I apply 5V supply for bq24230EVM, CHG LED(D1) emits light for a moment even if battery is unconnected.
Is it normal function for bq24230?
I would also like to know why it occures.
Best Regards,

I think there's some deglitch time before the IC can determine if there is a battery connected.

Yaita-san,
Please refer to the flow chart on page#20 of the datasheet. Once the IC is powered up, the IC will detect if the battery is shorted or not, if not, /CHG will be pulled low. But as soon as the IC detects there's no charging current or the current is below ITERM, the /CHG will be pulled high. Therefore, the /CHG will be pulled low for a short amount of time before IC detects no charging current.
Thanks,
Wenjia
