BQ24650 efficiency

My customer wants to design with the BQ24650 in the buck-boost mode for a solar inverter application.

please confirm that it is possible to generate 13v output with 8V input

what are the efficiencies in that application. The efficiency curves given in the datasheet seem to be for buck mode only.

Madhuri,

The bq24650 CANNOT be designed for a non-inverting buck-boost converter. I suppose you could do a SEPIC converter with this IC with external feedback/compensation components. However, we have not tested any topologies other than buck converter with this device, so we have no idea what the efficiency will look like.

Thanks Smriti. Can you please advise on how to do the SEPIC converter design with the BQ24650? Are there any app notes/design tools?
