Hi,

I'm currently experiencing problems using the BQ24095 Ion charger.

Here's my circuit:

It looks like I followed the datasheet this way. R2 is not placed.

This is my layout:

There are two things which can happen when I turn it on, it either does nothing at all or something like this: (usually when it has been off for a while)

The switch switches the battery on/off.

My experiences with my PCB:

  • When I plug in the battery but not the charger plug, the charging LED is very weak but on.
  • When I plug in the power but not the battery, nothing happens.
  • When I plug in both, usually both LEDs turn on for a while, and after some seconds they start flashing irregularly and they turn off after a few minutes.
  • I tested with 2 PCBs, both approximately the same result (since they do not have a standard behavioral, they wont match of course)
  • Edit: The behavioral after switching off/on the battery in the video often is the behavioral right from the start after plugging in the power.

What could this problem be?

Is my circuit wrong?
