TP65910 errta

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65910

Hello,

Our customer read VERNUM. It's 0x01. It means silicon version number is Revision 1.1.

TPS65910 errta is for ES1p1. ES1P1 and silicon version 1.1 are difference?

Our customer don't need workaround?

Is it correct?

TPS65910 Silicon Errata

Regards,

Mitsuharu Iwasaki

  • Hi Mitsuharu,

ES1.1 indeed refers to the silicon revision, and is the latest version of the TPS65910. I will correct this in my other post. The errata does apply to the customer's silicon, but the behavior is not always observed. In the instances the behavior is observed, the errata fix should be one of the first attempts in order to debug the issue.

  • Hello Richard,

The customer silicon revision is 1.1. Silicon revision 1.1 is ES1.1. The customer have to do workaround. Is it correct?
If correct, I have simple some question.
About DCDC o/p voltage can go higher than programmed value on www.tij.co.jp/.../swcz010a.pdf
    1. If the cutomer doesn't do workaround, Is TPS65910 broken?
    2. Should the cutomer do workaround?
    3. How frequency is that happen?
    4. What voltage are shifted?

    Regards.,

  • Hi Mitsuharu,

    1. No.

    2. This issue is most common when switching from deep sleep mode to active, when using DVFS, or when transitioning from PFM to PWM as in low current to high current load demands. If these are common cases for your customer than I would recommend implementing the workaround.

    3. This depends on the application, and how often the controller needs to switch operating modes.

    4. VDD1, VDD2, and VIO can all see variations in output voltage. The amount of variation is not defined.

  • Hi Richard,

I understood that TPS65910 is not broken. But our cutomers's concers are that whether connected devices such as Sitara and DDR are broken or not? When VIO is 1.5V, What maximum voltage is VIO shifted?
