Ratiometric temperature sensing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL536-Q1

Hi,

I am using your bq76PL36 chip, and am trying to understand the connection between the overtemperature trip setpoints and temperature. In "Table1: Overtemperature Trip Setpoints" of the bq76PL536-Q1 datasheet, there are two columns labeled "Vts Ratio Set" and Vts Ratio Clear." I understand that Vts is the ratio of thermistor voltage to REG50 voltage, but what is the difference between "SET" and "CLEAR" Vts ratios?  Thanks!

  • it shows the hysteresis in the Overtemp set points (set = set the flag, clear=clear the flag)

For example, CONFIG_OT=1, an Overtemp flag is set when the voltage on the TS pin rises above 1V and the Overtemp flag is cleared when the voltage on the TS pin drops below 0.883V.
