LM5175 unstable issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5175

Hi team,

This is Patrick Zeng from South China FAE team.

My customer has designed a prototype using LM5175. Spec is  6~42V input, 14.8V/3A output for car infotainment. But they met an unstable behavior in certain operating points.

When Vin=30V,Vout=14.8V/1A, system operates normally(Blue line is SW, green line is Inductor current):

When load is increased to 1.5A, system is getting unstable:

It gets worse as load continues to increase, Iout=2.3A:

I modified the compensation network, but it seems no help. I also confirmed the driving signals are ok.

Also, similar behavior is detected on our EVM, when Vin=15V, Vout=12V/2A:

  SW node:

Customer used our quick-start tool to design, the parameter is as below:

Could you please help take a look at the waveforms and give me some feedback? Thanks!

Best Regards,

Patrick Zeng
