About BQ51003 , How to setting or Calculate FOD and R1 (ILIM) Resister Value ??

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51003, BQ25100, TIDA-00318

Hi

I have question for  BQ51003 FOD Setting value.

Now we started evaluated  WPC_BQ51003 + Charger_BQ25100  combination application.

We thinking

    BQ25100  Side Charge current     =>  R_ISET = 1.43k ( Current 94mA)

    BQ51003  Side   Current                 =>  RFOD =196 , R1 =3k  ( Current 98mA )

But I have question for  BQ51003 side Current setting Resister Value.

We understand  R_ILM =  R1  + RFOD , this is Current setting value.

【 Question  】

  Current setting by  this one   = >  R_ILM =  R1  + RFOD

   How to decide this  each  R1   and RFOD value  ??     and best setting ??

   Dose these  R1 and RFOD  have  ratio  each setting value ??

    * We found this document  " Calibration FOD Tool " in TI site.

       But we   dose not have    AVID Tool .

   Could you tell us about this FOD Best value Calculate  without  AVID Tool ??

  • Jasper,

    Unfortunately the FOD calibration tool is the only way to accurately calculate the resistors' value in your FOD circuit. There is not a fixed ratio between R1 and RFOD. My suggestion is to use the RFOD and Ros value in our EVM or in TIDA-00318 and then tune your R1 according to the target output current.

    Thanks,
