BQ24257 not charging the 3.7V Lipol battery

Hi,

We're using the BQ24257 in a new design. We are not using I2C for the time being. Plan is to have only stand alone node.

We have shorted the D+ and D- as we use DCP (5V 2A). Rlim is shorted to ground with zero ohm resistor. Riset is 127Ohm.

We have connected 3.7V Lipol battery to the BAT pins as shown in the attached schematics.

At present the I2C lined are pulled up to 3.3V and not driven by processor

L1 inductor used is given below

Vishay Dale IHLP1212BZER1R0M11 FIXED IND 1UH 5A 24 MOHM SMD

System load is directly connected to VBAT as shown in the schematics.

When we connect the DC supply 5VDC 2A with D+ and D- shorted we are not observing any change on the battery voltage and there is no input current drawn.

But we could see LDO output at 4.9V. STAT pin is always high. We don't have NTC connected and there is a potential divider, one end of which is connected to LDO

Can you please advice on what could be wrong here?

Will it work without I2C? Is my schematics OK ? Is there anything wrong with the inductor selection?Batcharger1.pdf

Thanks for your response in advance

Thanks and Regards,

Seena
