bq51050B / NTC Circuit Options

Hi Everyone,

My customer is designing resistors connected to TS/CTRL pin. Then I received following question. Please confirm it and give your comment.

  1. Which situation do you recommend to add R3? They hope to use right circuit simply.
  2. Can we remove R1 and use only NTC? Please let me know if you have recommended NTC which can use without R1. (For example 103AT from Semitec)

Best Regards,

Sonoki / Japan Disty

  • Satoshi-san,

The R1 and R3 values are all based on the customer desired hot and cold temperature. So customer can use the formula in the datasheet to calculate those two values. For example, if R3 is 100 times bigger than R1+RNTC, then you can probably remove R3 as its impact is minimum. Similarly, if R1 is much much smaller than RNTC, then R1 can probably be removed too.

Again, it's all depending on the hot and cold temperature that customer wants to set.

    Thanks

    Wenjia
