TPS65530A datasheet questions

I know this is a fairly old chip, but I have a few questions:

1. I don't need channel 7 in my application. I know I can set EN7 low, but what is the recommended way of leaving the pins? Leave SW7, FBV, C-IN, FBC and B-ADJ unconnected?
2. For channel 8, how do I find the values for the resistors at SW8HD, LL8 and SW8LD, if I am using Sanyo VEC2607 and VEC 2611, for instance?
3. For the diodes, the Sanyo SB0503EJ seems to be hard to find. Would the ON Semiconductor SB05-03C-TB-E be a safe alternative?
4. If the battery input is instead replaced with a regulated 5V input (e.g. from using a TPS2420), would it be feasible to use fewer external capacitors?
