bq51050B / Disable wireless charging without wired charging

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500212A

Hi Everyone,

My customer want to disable wireless charging during charging in progress but there is no wired charger. Then I have following question.

  1. Can they disable it by pulling AD pin to High?
  2. Does the charging restart by pulling AD pin to Low and without re-touch? Or they need to remove receiver coil and re-touch it to restart charging?

Best Regards,

Sonoki / Japan Disty

  • 1. Yes you can pull AD pin high to disable the wireless charging.

    2. Yes, they don't need to remove the RX. Just to make sure that the AD pin voltage is low.

    Thanks,

    Wenjia

  • Hi Wenjia,

My customer commented that removing the RX from TX was needed to restart charging after AD pin returned to Low from High. So their result disagree with your comment. Can you confirm it on your bench again? Or does the behavior depend on TX IC?

    Best Regards,

    Sonoki

  • Hi Wenjia,

My customer tried the same testing with bq500212A, then the charging was restarted without removing RX. So this behavior depended on TX IC that is not TI's one.

Let me close this question. Thank you for your support again.

    Best Regards,
