bq24450 will not enter float mode because of system noise. I find adding a small capacitor from the VFB pin to ground solves the issue. Is this an acceptable fix.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24450

Hi

I am using a bq24450 in a circuit that operates in a system that has a fair amount of noise. When the loads are disconnected the battery will charge as expected and enter the float mode (final voltage apx13.6 v). When the loads are connected to the board the device continues to charge at a higher rate (final voltage 14.0v). I found that if I put a capacitor (1uf tantalum) from the VFB pin to ground to filter the noise the chip appears to operate correctly. I am wondering if doing this will cause any issues.

Thanks
