Bq34z100 Design Energy Scaling

Hi again...

I have a 12V, 6s, PBA battery pack.

The nominal cell V is 2.1 V

The Design capacity is 18000 mAh

The Design Energy is then 18000 x 2.1 = 37800, so I will use a design energy scale of 10.

Questions:

So now the Design Energy value should be  3780, correct?

Should the Design Capacity now be input as 1800 or 18000 ?

Are any other parameters changed due to the Design Energy Scale (not to be confused with data scaling which is 1 for my application)?

  • Tim,
Design Energy Scaling only affects the energy parameters. The units on capacity will remain the same, so you will enter 18000mAh and the Design Energy will become 3780 cWh. The parameters affected are listed in the Design Energy Scale section in the datasheet.
