Hello,

I am trying to find out whether the two evms (BQ500212a & BQ51050b) can be used to charge a 3.7V Li-ion battery.

Shooting for 140 mA and ~8 V based off the original charger I have.

Not sure if the 8V is and input to system or planed for battery.

The bq51050b has a fixed output voltage of 4.2V and charge current can be adjusted to 140mA.
Input voltage to the bq500212A TX is 5.5v to 4.5v.

How can I adjust the charge current to 140 mA?

The 8v was an output from the original charger I have for the battery I am trying to charge using the two evms.

For charge current See data sheet page 21 "Battery Charge Current Setting Calculations"
Are you trying to charge two battery in series (2S)?

I am only trying to charge one battery at a time.

Is the test in section 6 of the bq51050 user guide compatible with the bq500212a instead?

bq51050b user guide section 6 (Test Procedure) will use a 19V input TX (bq500210) but any Qi TX can be used, the bq500212A (5V input) will work also.
