Need suggestion to make FET bridge reactifier (ORing controller?)

Need advise how to create FET based bridge rectifier  to replace diodes.  That is low voltage-hi current application and diode Vf takes too much power.

The source is 60kHz AC, center tapped. The output must be symmetric about the ground, means current flow from V+ to V-, not to ground. Also have +/-5V available on secondary side to power up FET's and controller as the transformer voltage should be able to go below 1V and still provide high rectified current at low resistive loads.

Any suggestion how to achieve this?  Is the ORing controllers right direction? If so which parts?

  • Hi Karne,

I am not aware of any TI products which can serve as an ideal diode bridge rectifier, especially for 60kHz operation. You can check out these threads regarding this topic:

Even competitor devices I know of, such as the LT4320 cannot work with 60kHz operation:

    Thanks!
