If I've well understood, BQ40Z50R requires to interface with a charger to implement a battery management. In the product's page, TI recommends to use a BQ296103 as charger. But how do these modules do to exchange information through the SMBus? They are completely autonomous or it is necessary to use an external microcontroller for arbitrating the communication? There isn't a reference project or a clear application note that can I use? The documentation is very poor...
