BQ24257 Not recommended for new designs

I notice that the BQ24257 is now listed as not recommended for new designs. I find this odd as it is listed in the 2015 Battery Management Guide as a new device.  See page 19 

The BQ24251 is also not recommended, this is making me a little nervous about using the BQ24253 or other BQ2425* device if it will become obsolete in the near future.  Is it possible to find what will become end of life or a roadmap of Ti parts?
