Could I get the attached schematic with bq24745 reviewed for errors/issues?

Attached is my schematic for my Li-Ion Battery charger.  Some notes on the design:

Adapter Input Voltage is 12 VDC.

Battery consists of two series NCR16850B batteries at 7.4Volts.

Appreciate any questions or comments.

Thanks,

  • 1. CSSP/CSSN need a Kelvin connection. Please don't let a high power current between C23 and Q7 flowing on CSSP sensing trace.
    2. Bootstap diode D5 is connected "BOOT" net. But, on BOOT pin side, I don't find "BOOT" net. Please put "BOOT" net label between R26 and C42.
    3. Make sure the AGND and PGND joint near the charger IC.
    4. Please put C32 0.1uF VFB capacitor on the other side of R20 to reduce the RC delay on VFB pin.
    5. Make sure R21 large enough to handle input inrush power. Recommend 1206 for 19V input.
  • I see in one of your reference designs that you utilize a Stackpole Electronics .01ohm sensing resistor but this component is not provide a Kelvin connection, does it? Do you have a general recommendation on preferred Kelvin connected resistors? They can be more expensive than the rest of the Battery Charger and circuitry combined, so I would expect you would have some solid recommendations.

    thanks,
