Charging a Li Pack with an Alkaline Pack and Switching Between Them

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25069

 Hello everyone,

There are several applications where it is preferable to use alkaline batteries. But since they have high internal resistance, I was wondering if it was possible to use the alkaline pack to charge a smaller Lithium pack, and whenever the device needs to use more current it can switch between the two (With something like LM25069).

Naturally this would only work in an application where high current is only occasionally needed, but that’s all I’m looking for at the moment.

This is a very general idea that I’ve been shooting around and I was wondering if there were any potential pitfalls that you could think of.
