Hello,

I have designed the board for my test bench using bq76pl536a for 4s3p li ion battery. since I am not using microcontroller , I am trying to connect my board to computer using USB to i2c communication module.

According to the data sheet of BQ76PL536A,they suggested to use AADVARK interface,but its too costly.

So can you please suggest some other interface,that will fit for the BQ76PL536A EVM ,so that it will be compatible to balance the cells.

Hello Chappidi,
I am sorry to hear that. There are other SPI to USB adopters but we haven't checked out other adopters except Aarvarks.
I don't think I can proposal something that we haven't verified.

Another proven solution is MSP430 evaluation module.

You can order MSP430 evaluation modules and you will also find the MSP430 uC codes and instructions on how to operate it from that application note.
I think that will be another option for you.

Can you please let me know,which registers of the IC are to be programmed and how to set the values to registers.

Group 3 is what you program for OV, UV and OT. Check the PL536A datasheet.

There is a flow chart on figure 16 for OTP programming.
