Hi all,

I am using bqStudio to program my bq34z100g1. However, after I clicked Program, it ran several seconds and turned to Registers page. After that, I can't connect to the IC anymore. Programming the IC again doesn't work. I get Failed to execute Firmware - No acknowledge from device after clicking Execute FW.

bq34z100_G1_v0_16_build_17.srec is the firmware I use, which is download from TI.com

The IC is functional when using bq34z100_R0_V0_06_BLD_0006.senc.

Any suggestion will be appreciate.

I tried replicating the problem and have not been able to get it to occur. Can you recover the device by programming the bq34z100 v0.06 FW?

Sorry for the late reply. I try to recover it by programming the bq34z100_R0_V0_06_BLD_0006.senc FW and it works for a while then crashed again. Is there any possibility that the IC has some problem?

The device could be damaged, some other external component could be damaged or you could have a computer problem. I would check to see whether the REG25 output is stable. Check the I2C signals to see whether the ACK bit gets set. Does it get set for the address command and no other commands? Do the signal levels look good? If everything looks good, then I would replace the device.

You are right. I am going to replace the device now. I have checked all the things you said and everything looks fine.
