Hello,
I'm designing a device that needs a battery backup, the voltages need it are 10V and 3V3, for the battery charge I'm using the bq24074 in standalone mode, the max voltage tolerate for the bq24074 is 10.2V, this can put in risk the ic? I notice than it can tolarate a max of 28V but, the "work zone" is from 4.2 to 10.2V.
This is the way I want to design my voltage regulator, and as you can see I want to take advantage of the power path and use the charger as a regulator before the 3v3 DC DC, the max current for the system is about 800mA.
Regulator 12V to 10V ------->BQ24074 ------->REGULATRO 4.2V to 3.3v
Am I in the right direction or should I consider a different design?
Thanks.
