Hi

 Regarding BQ24095, we have some question.

 1) BQ24095 connects system load and battery. BQ24095 charges the battery, and provide the power to system load as well.

  At this condition, how does this device operate after full charged.

  The system load is provided from the battery? or power supply(adaptor)?

 

2) If the answer of 1) is “the battery”,

Does the charging start again when the OUT voltage is below the Vrcg threshold?

 

3) If the answer of 2) is Yes,

  I am concerned that the BQ24095 repeats 1) and 2). Is that correct?

  Battery )  charging -->  full charged -->  providing to system load -->  recharging

 

4) Regarding “10 hour safety timer”

  I do not understand this function. Can BQ24095 operate continuously over 10 hours?

  In my understanding , this timer is only for charging battery. Is that correct?

    Regarding 1, I_IN ~= I_BAT + I_LOAD. If the battery is fully charged, and a valid input source is connected, the load should be supply by the input source.

    Regarding 4, the safty timer is for safty. The battery should be fully charged less than 10 hours. When the battery is not fully charged after 10 hours, the charger thinks there is something wrong. Thus, once the 10 hour safety timer expire, the charger is disabled.

    Output current is shared by the load and the battery during charging. Icharge = Iout - Iload. The IC has a 10 hour safety timer which will diable the charge if the battery is not fully charged after 10 hours. If the load draws too much current such that the battery charging current is to low to charge up the battery in 10 hours, the safey timer is going to kick in and disables the charger even if your battery is not fully charged.

    I understand. This time works and disabled if the battery is not charged fully in 10 ours.
    If the battery is charged fully, this device can provide the power to system load more than 10 hours.
    Is that correct?
