BQ24045 with Adapter power in parallel

Hi,

Can I put my power adapter parallel to the battery? I put my input and battery terminal connected then does it affect charging status of the battery? If I use common cathode diode to isolate the input power or battery power to the system load then does it affect the system ?

And what is meaning of this line given in datasheet:

A system load can be placed in parallel with the battery as long as the average system load does not keep the battery from charging fully during the 10 hour safety timer.

I am not sure i understand you discription completely. Can you please provide schematic?

To explain the line in the datasheet. Please see the explaination in the thread in the link below. The concept should be the same.

I want to know the differences b/w this and the load connect to parallel to direct battery. I think in my case the charge cycle of the battery is less or i can say battery uses is low.

In above link thread i'm confused a bit that if put a system load parallel to the battery then I(charge)=I(out)-I(load), if battery is not fully charged in 10 hour safety timer then it suspend the charging means there is no output I(out)=0 OR it provide power to system without charging the battery I(out)=I(load), in case of any power disruption and after complete battery charge It draws power from battery so now it is going to discharge means the charger needs to charge the battery. Please make it clear to me the total process of charging or discharging with system load in parallel.
