bq40z60 Settings for Evaluation Module (bq40z60EVM-578)?

I have made a PCBA board using bq40z60 chip. the schematic is exactly same with the bq40z60EVM-578 .

I used 3 cell batter (BRC18650 5000 mAh 3.7v li-ion ). I have connected the board through EV2300 to the Battery Management Studio 1.3.42.

Everything is OK, but it looks the chip's default setting is not working as Evaluation Module ( the charger and discharge and LED are not working).

I just want to let the board works like Evaluation Module (has basic charge, discharge, LED and protection functions).

Where can I found the Settings for Evaluation Module (bq40z60EVM-578) or some one has settings for this Module?

I have calibrated the chip, all calibration is OK, but the Pack voltage can not calibrated with the measured voltage , it shows "the voltage is out of range".

There is a bqStudio limitation that prevents you from using a reference voltage greater than 20V when calibrating the adapter voltage. Turn the charger off (CHARGER_EN) and apply a voltage that is 20000mV or less to the VACP. Enter this voltage into the calibration field and calibrate the pack. The gauge can report a VACP voltage greater than 20V.

Thanks for your answer, I have calibrated all values successfully.

The charger is work well, but when I disconnected the charger, the battery stopped for discharging.

any suggestions for that?

Are the CHG and DSG FETs on? Maybe the charger was providing current to the load.

Hi Tom,

I have seen XCHG and XDSG is red on the operation status.
I togged DSG_FET and CHG_FET, but looks no changes. How can turn on the CHG and DSG FETs ?

Hi Tom,

My bq40z60 is working well now.

One issue is every time I need to wake up it by connect BAT+ to VAC. How can I make it automatically wake up?

Are you trying to wake the gauge from the Shutdown state? If so, voltage has to be applied to the VACP pin to wake it. The voltage should come from a charger, but you could use a diode and a resistor to wake it from the BAT signal. The diode will provide reverse protection when the charging voltage is applied.
