Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510

Hi Team,

My customer is looking for the gas gauge IC as the following.

- single series cell Li-polymer Battery
- Battery capacity:100mAh(min)
- system side
- impedance Track
- SPI or I2C

Is there any TI device meets the requirement?

Best Regards,
Yaita / Japan disty

  • Hi Yaita,
They should consider the bq27510 or the bq27520 depending on what package they want either qfn or csp. The bq27421 (rom based gauge which is cheaper) might also work if the default chem id preprogrammed on it is a match with their cell. The can run a quick test using the online tool in the link below to check if their cell matches any of the chem ids of the 3 flavors of the device.

  • Hi Onyx-san,

    Thank you for your support!

I would like to confirm one more..
Could I also add bq27425 to consider for the requirement?
If the answer is yes, I will ask my customer to confirm these four devices by online tool.

    Best Regards,
    Yaita

  • hi Yaita,
The bq27425 is eeprom. The bq27421 is the next gen to the 425 so there is no need to add that to considered list. Instead if the customer will have discharge currents greater than 2A, you can add the bq277441 to the list. it is a Rom based system side gauge as well.
    thanks
