usb2gpio adapter troubleshoot

Hi;

My usb interface adapter(USB2GPIO) work ok before, and we can use it to program the UCD92xx device for our board.

but in these days, it can not work and its led do not illuminate again. I have tried to install this adapter in some PC and different USB port, it still can not illuminate  the LED and can not work.  Anyone met this case before?  it seems that the firmware for this adatper is crashed, where can get this firmware to update the programmer to let it work again.

thank you!

  • I've never seen one fail, but I'd first suspect that you may have damaged it in hardware somehow. I've seen the cables go bad, so you may want to check those first. If you were using it with a high voltage supply, I'd be pretty sure that it was high voltage damage, but since you're using a 92XX, maybe that's not the issue. You can take it apart and look for damaged components.

    If it's firmware, and the GUI can't find it, you can't update the firmware. I deliberately sacrificed one to test this for you. There is a USB adapter firmware download tool, but if the current firmware isn't working you can't download it. I started a download and pulled the plug, which corrupted the firmware. I couldn't recover it

    I assume that you are plugging the adapter into the PC before you plug it into the target system. If you have power on any of the pins on the PMBus/SMBus/I2C cable and don't have power on the USB side, it won't start up properly. So unplug it from both sides, and then plug in the USB first.

    Since you say the green light doesn't come on, I assume this means that the GUI doesn't find it either.
  • Hi Ian;
