The firmware was released under a new part number (instead of the previous BQ78350).
Is this firmware compatible with the original BQ78350?

The bq78350-R1 firmware can be programmed into the bq78350 device.

Hi,

I am using bq78350-R1 latest firmware with BQ78350-R1 chip on bq769306EVM. NCR186050B(3350mah) cells are connected to EVM.

Configured EDV2, EDV1 and EDV0 to 3215,2800,2500 respectively and enabled compensation EDV.

BQ78350 always took EDV2 as aproximately as 3500 and reduced the learned FCC to aproximately half. Waited for 15 cycles, but it settled at FCC at 1700mah.

I guess BQ78350 is not taking EDV values from the CEDV cfg registers. Kindly help me in figuring out issue.

Hi Onyx,

How long does it take to receive back the gauging parameters after uploading the necessary files ?

What is the typical accuracy with the BQ78350-R1 ? I am currently noticing jumps in the reported RSOC below 6% during discharge, and some non linear steps during charging, is this typical ? we did not do any calibration yet using the GPCCEDV online tool.

One more question, it seems the support email from the GPCCEDV link you shared is restricted to a specific list, how we can ask related questions if we need to ?

Hi Al
The forums is the way to ask your gpc questions also. You are likely seeing the jumps because you haven't configured your device using the gpccedv tool.

Typical accuracy of the device if configured correctly can be >98%, i.e <2% error.

It takes about 5-10 mins to get back your results from the tool in your email. Just make sure there is no firewall blocking the email.

That was the same question about the RSOC jumps and the time needed to get a reply back for the recalculated parameters.
