LM5122 Soft-Start Transient - Diode Emulation to PWM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5122

Hello!!

I'm hoping you can help me with an issue that I'm having with a design. I'm trying to implement the soft-start feature on the LM5122. Right now, the ramp-up is great. However, my issue occurs when the device transitions from the ramp-up to the steady state voltage.

It appears that the device does an abrupt switch into PWM mode which causes the transient shown in the attached picture. Right now, I have the MODE pin tied high so that PWM mode is forced.

Have you seen this before? Any ideas on how to mitigate this mode switch transient?

Thanks!!

Paul
