need help for UCC28019 CCM PFC CONTROLLER

I need help for UCC28019 pfc controller. I set up that circuit but I cannot run it.

My first problem is mosfet. When I give the energy, mosfet burns. I checked all the feet of the integrated circuit. Except VCOMP, otherwise obtain the expected voltage. In the user guide sheet switching waveform of VCOMP is showed  approximately 4 Volt. But in my application I cannot read same voltage. Is this a big problem?

Also in last test of the circuit, mosfet didn't burn. But in that time boost converter didn't work correctly. It didn't step up the output valtage. I think, reason of this problem may be PWM. So the GATE doesn't produce probable square wave. 

Lastly mosfet generally burn. The circuit which I set up is very unstable. What I can do? Please help me!

    You would need to provide a complete schematic with all the compnent values and the source voltages and loads before I would be able to assis you.

  • As I wrote, I set up UCC28019 and you can find the components list with their values in UCC28019EVM 350 W PFC Converter user's guide. Also you can get detailed information from the UCC28019 controller datasheet.

    I used the components what the user's guide said. But my source and load a bit different. I give energy to the circuit from the AC line 220 V, 50 Hz and I use approximately  600 ohm resistor. Maybe you can say it 's a paradox. But  I cannot get sinusoid current signal, although I use a resistor as load. In user's guide using a programmable electroinc load is adviced. But  I don't have so can I test this circuit with resistor.

    The circuit input and output range:

    input: 85 - 265 VAC, 47 - 65 Hz

    output: 390 VDC 0.9 A

    My base problem is mosfet. I cannot drive the mosfet correctly and so it burns I think. The UCC28019 CCM PFC Controller is required some voltage on its feet. I tested them and the VCOMP foot doesn't have the required voltage. I think the problem of burning mosfet is  either insufficient VCOMP voltage or the wrong load. Or anything I cannot recognize.

  • Check that the 12 volt bias supply to the control circuit is floating and do not touch it when the circuit is in operation!!!

    The negative side of this 12 volt source is common to the source of the power FET.

    the negative side of the 12 volt power source has less than an ohm resistance between it and the negative side of the diode bridge and hense the most negative of the input voltages (line or power).

    If you  have had to change the circuit to achieve this retake your measurements.

    If you have not had to change the circuit using an isolated scope record the gate to source voltage during operation and send me an immage of the waveform 3 cycles of the gate signal should do. See if  they change over a cycle of the input voltage and if they do capture and send.

    I couldn't understand what you want to say about 12 volt bias supply. But  I read 12.7 V on the controller VCC feet and it is constant, doesn't have ripple.

    When mosfet is on the circuit I cannot record the gate to source voltage because as soon as I give the energy, mosfet burns. But when mosfet isn't on the circuit, I read approximately 9-10 volt on the gate to source voltage. I cannot capture the waveform but I try to describe. It is look like square wave but it has sudden ripple in very short time. So the gate is almost ON in one cycle.
