We would like develop Battery Management Systems for Lead Acid Batteries (48V/75Ah) using bq34z100-g1. We would like to test this requirement using bq34z100EVM board. Will it support my requirement?

bq34z100-G1 application notes explains scalability for higher voltage and Higher Current. With that option can we scale BQ34z100-G1 EVM for higher voltage and Currents?

The on-board sense resistor and PCB traces can only support about 2A. You should be able to remove the resistor an use an off-board sense resistor to support more current.

Thanks for your reply. 48V batteries required 58V charging voltage during CC mode. How to handle this high voltage?

The bq34z100-G1 does not control charging and the voltage register can support up to 64V, so this does not affect the device. I do question why you need to set the charging voltage to 58V to charge a 48V pack.

Battery type is Lead Acid.

In CC mode the Charging voltage for 12V battery is 14 to 14.5V max.

In 48V system there will be 4 batteries in series. So total maximum Charging voltage is 4 multiply 14.5.

Please correct me if am wrong.
