pre-regulator for wide input range (e.g 20-100Vac)

Dear Sir,

I am looking for a solution that can handle wide ac input range 20-100vrms (from 3phase alternator). This input will be pre-regulated to 36-75Vdc before dc-dc converters located in the next stage. The power required is 600W. Is there any possible solution from TI?

best regards,

  • Hi Theerayod,

I think you need a two stage approach with a buck boost first stage to give you the 36V to 75V rail from the AC 20Vrms to 100Vrms input. At 600W you can use a full bridge topology. What is the output voltage ?

When you have had more thoughts on your top level design then you can look at the TI controllers and select one that looks suitable.

    Regards
