Hello,

I came across a post from 2010 mentioning that .senc files could only be programmed using the bqStudio. I would like to automate this to run out of an executive (eliminate operator interaction); is this still the case or is there now a method to do this?

I found some VB code to read/write registers but it looked like the functionality stopped there. Is this also the case or does software exist that I am unaware of?

Could you provide a link to the 2010 e2e posting? The senc files are encrypted, so they can only be programmed using the bqEvaluation software. We have .dfi and .rom files that will allow you to program the data flash with 3rd party tools.

My customer is providing the .senc file. I would prefer not to modify it since it has been confirmed as working. What does the process to create a .dfi and .rom file look like?

The bqEVSW tools may have a utility to allow you to export a .rom file. You can also export it with the bqMTester tool. Which device are you using? the tools vary depending on the device.

It is a bq20z45. Assuming I can export to a .rom file, how would I program the part in an automated method?

You can export a rom file for that device. Here is a document with code to program a .rom file or .dfi file into a device. You can also use bqMtester to program the file.
