I am using a bq20z45-R1 for fuel gauging. I was wondering what conditions will wake this fuel gauge up after a successful shutdown command. I do not seem to be able to find the criterion in the datasheets. Also, what parameters in data flash have to be configured so that the device properly wakes up. It seems that when I send a successful shutdown command and apply charge current, it wakes up the device.

Hi David,
To exit Shutdown, the PACK voltage must be typically greater than 5.5V. This is the only condition required to exit shutdown.

Maybe shutdown is not the correct term. I send 0x0010 to 0x00. I do this for extended storage times. The voltage is already higher than CUV when I send this command. I know after I put the battery on a charger, the fuel gauge turns on. I was assuming it was charge current, but I was unable to find that in the documentation. I wanted to know what the charge current had to be and if it correlated to a data flash setting that I needed to ensure that I set.

He is correct, one only needs the charger to be higher than 5.5V.
