Software for EV2400 for Windows 10

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400, BQ40Z50, BQ40Z50-R1, BQSTUDIO

Is there a Software for EV2400 that will work with Windows 10 OS?
If so, please give a link to download it. Regards, R. Koosha

  • Hi Raymond, welcome to the forums!

The EV2400 identifies itself as a standard HID (Human Interface Device), so no drivers are needed. The accompanying software to evaluate fuel gauges, bqSTUDIO, has worked without any problems on my Windows 10 64-bit machine.

  • Hello Jason,

Thank you so very much for your answer and for your kind words!!!

I downloaded the SW and it can talk to the FG device on my board.

I cannot UNSEAL the FG device and wonder if you help here to. FYI, Under "Commands" I go to UNSEAL and put a code and then go to "UNSEAL_FULL_ACCESS" and putting another code. When done, I cannot read from Memory Data.

All your comments and suggestions are welcome!

    Best,

    Raymond

  • Hi Raymond,

What fuel gauge are you using, and is it from a board of your own design? If the gauge and board is from a battery that you have purchased separately, then it may have been sealed with a non-default unseal key.

    Jason

  • Hello Jason,

The FG is bq40z50R1 and now all is working OK! Just have two questions.

    1. What is the difference between bq40z50 and bq40z50R1?
    2. Besides EV2400, I am using EV2300. Is there a "Lifetimes" feature in EV2300 as the one on EV2400?
Otherwise, what is the best way of getting the recorded information from FG?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Kind Regards,

    Raymond Koosha

  • Hi Raymond,

Glad to hear your fuel gauge setup is working out for you! In response to your questions:

    • The changelist between the bq40z50 and the bq40z50-R1 is available here (SLUA755).
    • The Lifetime Data and/or Black Box features of the fuel gauge are not part of the EV2300/EV2400 (they are merely adapters that let you connect a fuel gauge to your PC). That data is stored on the fuel gauge itself and should be accessible through bqSTUDIO if the gauge is unsealed.

    Regards,
    Jason

  • Hi Gin,

You are absolutely right, it works on my Windows 10 64-b as well.
