Hello,

I have made a charger circuit using BQ24450 ic and it is charging the 12V, 7AH Lead Acid battery properly but when I am trying to charge

TWO SLA Battery in series i.e 2X(12V, 7AH)=24V,7AH by charging resistors values then it is not charging the batteries.

Can anybody help?????

Hi Shaheen,

I'm not battery expert, but I'm guessing that all the voltages have doubled while in series,: Vfloat, Vboost, etc. You may have better luck connecting and charging in parallel. But then, your app, may be a 24V app.

What is your input voltage? The bq24450 is a linear charger which input needs to be higher than the output.

Due to the thermal limitation, the charge current at 24V will be low.
