EV2300 communication problem

Hi,

I trying to read capacity and current from smart battery (sbdata 1.0).

The manufacurer send me these files:

I have EV2300, WinXP 32bit SP3, Visual Basic 6.

I downloaded the "ev2300 customer kit.zip" (before I installed the drivers) and open the "ev2300 vb example".

The read button always retrieve 0000.

I just want to read the battery capacity...

someone can help me?

Could you provide more information on which gauge and evaluation software program you are using?

Hi,

I just bought the batteries (UBI-2590HC / UBBL13-01).

The manufactourer tell me that the batteries comm with SMBUS and sent me the PDF that i linked to previews message.

I just want to write a program that read the remain capacity each 1 min via ev2300.

Tom,
The EV2300 Customer kit is a tool that you can use to develop your own evaluation tools. It is not customized to work with a specific device. Do you know which gauge you are trying to read? If you knwo, then we can point you to the bqEvaluation tool to read data from that device.

I didn't know.
And the example didn't work for me. the read button return always 0000.

I think you need add pullup resistors. SMBus is open drain bus. You connect ev2300 (have no pullups) and you acc (ask about pullup resistors from ultralifecorporation.com support)..
Try connect 10kOhm:
data-<10kOhm>+3v3
clock-<10kOhm>+3v3
